According to the Daily Gleaner, a lot of former STU players on the move....

F - JC Campagna (UPEI)
F - Brendan Childerley (Acadia)
G - Tyson Teichmann (UOIT)
F - Anthony Latina (Queens)
F - Connor Sanvido (Lethbridge)

Forwards Andrew Fritsch and Zach Hall are also narrowing their choices.

Well the Panthers ended up getting the best player available in Campagna. Surprised Acadia tool Childerley. Eats up a roster spot.

I read an interview with Ottawa head coach Grandmaitre. He was talking about how he was interested in STU players. However, he conceded that many of them would probably be reluctant to join a new program that will probably struggle after being with a last place program in the short CIS careers.

Talking with ACA coaching staff and they are big on his leadership abilities. Plus, he's a good PK guy. ACA will lose Randall and Anderson, who was one of the best in the league IMHO. Thompson is back but Cazzola is not.

SMU will lose a bunch of guys: Doornbosch, Johnston, Grant, Greene (to MUN for Med School), D'Orazio, Tipoff, Maynard (has to go to an Engineering school next year). MacAulay probably won't be back but Duffy will. Beyers may not play again due to concussions. So, a young SMU team next season.

I saw a tweet or story about Acadia's grad banquet and there was no mention of Thompson, just Cazzola...wonder if he is planning on being back there for his last year?

They are an endangered species across North America.

I know - 30 years ago I was one of them. I rarely meet anyone now who can make that claim. And when they do they usually acknowledge a specialization in analyzing comic books or absolutely brutal poetry.

But I digress... :D

For the original post, I believe Locke and Johnson (UOIT) have major junior experience.

While there is no update, the team I am watching most closely is the GOJHL's Caledonia Corvairs (Jr. B). For the 3rd consecutive year, this team is loaded up and is poised to win the Sutherland Cup. The 2015-2016 roster saw 16 20 year olds (1995), 10 of which have major junior experience. They are currently 17-0 in the playoffs.

Several players would be excellent CIS additions.

Anthony Brodeur, son of Martin, goes to the Gee Gees.

Well this just got interesting.

Are we sure it just got interesting? :)

No disrespect to Brodeur, I'm sure he'll be a capable goalie at the CIS level. But, other than his last name, is he really that much of a special addition? It's likely he'd have been undrafted in the NHL if not for his lineage, and he played only 62 QMJHL games before heading for tier II out west.

Again, that's a totally viable path and pedigree for a CIS goaltender, but I'm not sure this changes UOttawa's prospects in year one - they'll still likely be in tough to reach a half-dozen wins.

Gee Gees have yet to pick up an ex-STU player. Most have opted for other programs which does make sense. Probably don't want to go from one last place team to another. Still some players left though.

Son of the best goaltender of all time. I was in Newark back in February when they retired Marty's number and Anthony, as evidencend by him being a goaltender, looks up the his father like no other. That would be one tough act to follow. I hope he concentrates more on a good education that the hockey, he would be much better off.

The second brother, neat. Fairly rare to see a commit with 2 years of junior eligibility left no?
