The past two Vegas games Nate Schmidt has led the team in ice time and of course is their leading possession D so far.

I cannot overstate what a colossal blunder this is likely going to end up being for Washington, especially given their current third pair is pretty much unplayable.

My eye test tells me he sucks defensively. They can use all their fancy numbers, but he`s not getting the job done. Can`t blame goaltending either, he`s had two world class goaltenders behind him with Holtby and now Lundqvist.

He's still clearly better than Burakovsky. If Montreal trades Galchenyuk, it wouldn't be for another winger. It would be for a center or LD.

I know he is but what if we add Ness?
They got Galch playing on the wing even though he's a center, traded away Subban for no reason and gave grinding- Shaw a huge contract and Alzner too, so lets not underestimate Montreal's GM.
