Offense - C+. Started off very well and efficient. I liked seeing the west coast offense in execution. Cousins played very well despite the two picks (one of which was a total freak play). The second half had some pretty bad drives, but they were largely attributed to stupid players doing stupid penalties. You can't do much when your teammates are forcing you into a 3rd and 20 situation. When the Redskins weren't committing penalties on offense, they were actually productive and making positive plays. The last Redskins drive went all the way deep into Dolphins territory before flaming out on 4th down. But you could see progress. And from this Kirk hater who thought McCoy should have started Week 1, he's sold me that he has a future on this team. He is the best QB on this roster, and he should definitely get the chances to start future games.
Defense - D+. The front 7 did a good job of shutting down the Dolphins at first. As said many times, the first 3 drives the Dolphins had one first down. The defense looked somewhat competent. Then they started to get spliced apart in the two minute drill, and that just changed the momentum of the game.
The problem was an injury plagued secondary, Amerson continued to show he was ineffective and was burned all day. Culliver had a penalty and a dropped pick. Robinson also dropped a sure pick. One bright spot was the hilarious fumble recovery off the huge Miami loss. At times this defense did show up but the story of the day was this inept secondary which remains a glaring issue.
Special teams - D - big ST return broke it open. Glaring issue reminiscent of 2014. FG decent. Punting fine.
