Two very different games played on during the semi-finals of the 2014 World Junior Championship. The first game of the day pitted Sweden against Russia, while the second featured Canada facing off against Finland.
Sweden continued their march through this year's WJC as they won their sixth straight game of the tournament, taking a closely contested 2-1 decision from Russia to move on to the gold medal game. Filip Forsberg and Oskar Sundqvist gave Sweden a 2-0 lead, but a Russian goal by Damir Zhafyarov in the third period shortly after the Sundqvist marker made the game interesting through the final buzzer.… read more
