Denmark is headed to a relegation round showdown with Germany at the 2014 IIHF U18 World Championship. Both countries were winless in the preliminary round of the tournament, placing those countries at the bottom of their respective groups and on a relegation collision course.
The Danes undoubtedly entered this tournament viewing it as a measuring stick of where they stand in relation to the better hockey-playing countries. Based on the results, there is still some work to do to catch up to countries like Switzerland, Slovakia, and maybe Germany.
Although not ranked by Central Scouting for the 2014 NHL Draft, one of the draft-eligible players competing for Denamrk at this U18 is forward Martin Eskildsen.… read more
