20 year old overage Liam Coughlin sure is off to a rip roaring start. 2 points in 7 games in the BCHL...

Yeah that wasn't a complete waste of a pick

Thanks for the work on putting this thread together... and on the effort it will take to update it.

I know most have probably just about forgotten about Zharkov... but I feel for the guy somewhat. He looked like a reasonably promising prospect and is now basically "finished" in the KHL. 0 pts in 5 games.. almost zero playing time. Will he even continue playing hockey?

In other news, undrafted Tkachev, who we passed up to draft other BCHL overagers, has 7 points in 2 games

The rest of the board is swamped with negativity. Can we at least try to keep a positive mood in here?

I think that is an unfair request. In a thread to discuss the teams prospects, it should be fair to discuss the good and the bad.

I agree. As an eternal optimist I hope for the best for the likes of Coughlin and Bouchard and will give them the benefit of the doubt until they have entered Hesketh or Abney territory. However, that benefit does not extend to the Oilers scouting staff when they make off the board picks (especially overage picks) when there are good CHLers still available.

Coughlin entered Hesketh territory before the season started.

At least he wasn't a 3rd round pick...

Has to be one of the most pathetic picks I've seen the Oilers make in a while..

So what's the situation with Roman Horak?

How long does he stay Oilers property? Those are some pretty good numbers in the KHL to start the year.

You're more than welcome to.

There's plenty of reasons to be positive about the Oilers prospects. I was just hoping that people might talk about them rather than bringing the doom and gloom of the rest of the board in here to trash a player they likely know no more than two lines of text about.

Thanks a lot for doing this GB! This is my most visited thread and it's nice to have all the stats in one place where I can take a quick scan and see how things are going. It's much easier than searching for each individual prospect on Elite Prospects!

Are Horak and Larsen still prospects? Did we have to qualify them, or not? I remember there being a rule that you don't have to qualify RFA players leaving to Europe or something, but I don't remember it.

I am interested in Vesel, I think he can be a later round suprise

His team from the University of Nebraska-Omaha just lost a preseason game 4-0 against the NAIT Ooks.
It's amazing how much quality hockey you can watch in Edmonton.

Was Nebraska icing a purely preseason team? or was it a regular team? I have a buddy on NAIT and saw they were playing in the States but thought theyd get slaughtered.. good for them

Ive always thought the Golden bears were/are the most underrated team in Alberta. They are always dominant, and have pretty good players, but attendance is always meh and they are rarely talked about

It would be cool to get a 18 year old on the Bears who is drafted right from the Bears, or maybe put Draisaitl on the Bears:sarcasm:

I'll be pretty interested in this guy over the next few years. He seems good numbers in his jr league and he's in a good program at Michigan.

I'm not familiar with their team, but Vesel was playing (looked like the second line from the highlights) so I guess it was a decent but not full roster. (Highlights)

It would be awesome if Draisaitl played for the Bears. The WHL would have to pay for his first two years of tuition. Some revenge for the stupid development-restricting CHL-NHL agreement.
