Your second line-up is much better ^ even if we send Lazar down we can place Condra on 4th line and move Stone one up.

I don't wanna rush Puempel. I think one more year in A will do him wonders.

MacArthur - Turris - Ryan
Michalek - Zibanejad - Chiasson
Greening - Legwand - Stone
Hoffman/Condra - Smith - Neil
- I wouldn't be surprised if Condra got waived or traded

Cowen - Karlsson
Methot - Ceci
Phllips/Boroweicki - Gryba
- Wiercioch is the odd man out & will likely get traded.

Anderson - Lehner

Hope Condra gets waived. It's a real possibility.

:crossfing

He may not, IMO he will share that 12th spot with Hoffman who is a rookie & we know that PM prefers vets over rookies. While Hoffman gives that 4th line an offensive option, Condra is an experienced defensive forward who could fit better on that 4th line. Should be interesting to see what happens with that roster spot.

I also think Neil, Condra and Greening need to be pushed down the line-up or trade, we need to give young players some spots. Puempel, Lazar with Legwand/Smith would be a lovely third line.

Pageau between Hoffman and Smith on the 4th, keep Neil as the extra guy for toughness. Buddy Robinson should be considered for 4th, and I have not mentioned Stone yet.

Top 2 lines are set: M-T-R; MM-Zib-Chiasson.

Of course, that is assuming all the young guys are up to the challenge, but I can definitely see at some point this season, Greening and Condra would be gone to make room. At the time, we can target a top 4 Right Hand D-man to play with Cowen/Wier.

Also, Claesson should replace Philips, hopefully it is either this or next season.

I don't think the Senators can get a second pairing defenceman in return for two 4th line wingers like Greening and Condra.

Well, they play opposite sides, so I don't see it as being one or the other, more likely Hoffman or Greening, and Condra or Neil. For Greening to get bumped out of the lineup, we either need a center to make the line and Smith to play LW, or Puempel to make the team. I could also see them try Lazar on a wing but I think he'd be a RW, could be wrong though.

the first line for this team is Greening-Smith-Neil so everyone please stop putting that stupid Turris line first.

Waive or move Greening. If we can trade Neil or Philips we should much as I love them. If we're looking good near the dealine, I wouldn't be opposed to a Stone+ or Chia+ deal for Kane or something.

If we don't get Ryan and Methot signed soon, start looking for trades for a quick little retool-picks, prospects, young'uns... etc.

The way I see it, there's three forward trios you can't separate:

Michalek-Zibanejad-Chiasson
MacArthur-Turris-Ryan
Hoffman-Smith-Stone

Put the best players available in the last three spots (Legwand + X + X).

Hoffman would be better with Legwand and Lazar, imo.

Smith on the wing with Pageau and Stone.

MacArthur-Turris-Ryan
Michalek-Zibanejad-Chiasson
Hoffman-Legwand-Lazar
Smith-Pageau-Stone

Beautiful. Replace Lazar with Stone and Stone with Condra if Lazar sent down.

But do they have the guts to do that. MacLean always says the best guys play - and then doesn't do it. But I guess the roster is Murray's call at the end??

Since Toronto is a rival, I have made an attempt to compare the teams player for player.

Blue = the Maple Leaf player is better than its counterpart.
Red = the Senator player is better than its counterpart.
Black = players are equally good/too Close to decide.

These are projected line-ups, not the ones that I'd like to see.

Mac-Turris-Ryan
Michalek-Zibanejad-Chiasson
Greening-Legwand-Stone
Condra-Smith-Neil

Pageau, Lazar, Puempel

Methot-Karlsson
Cowen-Gryba
Phillips-Ceci
Weir, Claesson

Anderson
Lehner

JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Leivo - Kadri - Lupul
Komarov - Holland - Clarkson
Bodie - Santorelli - Winnik

Booth, Frattin, Nylander

Polak - Phaneuf
Robidas - Gardiner
Franson - Rielly
Percy, Granberg

Bernier
Reimer

ABout right, which ones would you change?

According to these guestimations thes teams cance eachother out, both being +6 and the rest equally good.

For starters:

Kessel>Ryan
Legwand>>>Holland No idea why you have this as too close to call...

Also, Greening would be projected in over Condra, as Condra plays RW whereas Greening plays LW.

Well yes this is what we all want but unfortunately its not going to happen. Ok well not exactly what we want id keep Neil around as an enforcer type and Pageau is on my team too.

Based on camp so far I tend to agree.

Too many of these suggested lineups are moving guys out of their normal positions and even shifting them to off-wings.

The only shift I can see at this point is time hinges on how Pageau and Lazar play through the remaining days of camp.

If one of then shows enough then I think the third line will be Smith-Legwand-Stone,
with the fourth line centered by Pageau or Lazar.
