just checked out the iihf website...here are some '88 born players...any information on them would be appreciated.

Canada:
Jonathon Toews F

Czech Republic:
Michael Frolik F
David Ruzicka D
Michal Repik F

Russia:
Semen Varlamov G

Slovakia:
David Skokan F

Sweden:
Jhonas Enroth G

USA:
Erik Johnson D
Peter Mueller F

i realize the cutoff date for this years draft also includes some '87 birthdays but i was unsure of the cutoff date so didn't bother. the merits of certain players (eg: toews, johnson, mueller, frolik) have been discussed at length but more discussion would be appreciated. how about some of these other guys?

wow didn't realize the usa left off sanguinetti...

stupid move on their part...then again they have made lots of questionable calls past few years, mainly jack johnson left off last year.

Jhonas Enroth is a small (5-10) goalie. He is very solid and fast and should together with Stefan Ridderwall (also 2006 eligeble) be the best goalie prospect in Sweden since Lundqvist.

I looked at the IIHF website and this should be a complete list of all first-time 2006 eligible players. I didn't include players that had been previously passed over or didn't enter.

Canada
Jonathan Toews F

Czech Republic
Michael Frolik F
Tomas Kana F

Finland
Jesse Joensuu F

Latvia
Kaspars Daugavins F
Toms Hartmans F
Jurijs Klujevskis F
Arturs Kulda D
Martins Skuska F
Kriss Grundmanis D (2007)

Norway
Jonas Nygard D

Russia
Semen Varlamov G

Switzerland
Dario Burgler F
Jeremy Gailland F
Juraj Simek F
Yannick Weber D (2007)

Slovakia
David Skokan F (2007)

Sweden
Nicklas Backstrom F

United States
Erik Johnson D
Phil Kessel F
Mark Mitera D
Peter Mueller F
