A lot of the hockey in China is played in the north. Closer to the Mongolian/Russian borders in Qiqihar & Harbin.

That's nothing... did you know Namibia is a member nation of the IIHF? Lots of future Gretzkys playing in the Kalahari?

I was gonig to say, I'm not surprised countries such as China, S.Korea, and Japan are playing hockey. Those countries get a lot of snow and ice.

I am not sure of the score but Austrailia lost to Summerland Sting (KIJHL JUnior B) team the other night.... Apparently the Sting took it easy on them, as the Aussies tune up for the tourney.

There is an Australlian guy playing Jr. B for the London Nationals here in Canada (as opposed to the UK? :dunno: ). Apparently he's 18 and is the starting goalie for the National team.

There are actually a lot of European decsendants living in Namibia (mostly German and Dutch if I am correct), so it shouldn't be too surprising.

Im not suprised there would be interest in these countries, but ice rinks :dunno: they arent exactly cheap to build. I could see inline hockey but ice? I guess this is why theyre in this group though.

Their training camp in Canada has been quite good, they've had some solid opposition in their warm up games. Apparantley, it seems a few of the boys could be in training camp for some Canadian junior teams next season.

In Exhibition action in Bulgaria Team New Zealand played Team Bulgaria to a zero all tie. New Zealand outshot bulgaria but just couldn't get the puck past the tender. NZ have been workin on the ol' haka so hopefuully some spiritual guidence will bring them gold in the tourny

Things could not have gotten off to a better start for Team Australia, defeating hosts Bulgaria 10-3 in front of "a parochial Bulgarian home crowd".

Australia v China on Thursday will be the Gold Medal game.

In under 18 champs last year Australia defeated China 6-3. This game will be a ripper!!

Whoever is victorious in Thursdays game between Australia and China will most probably take gold. I have all the confidence in the world in the Australians winning this tournament.

Do they televise these games in Australia?

I doubt it.

Anyway guys, there is no need to post scores as they are updated at the top of the thread as the IIHF records the scores.
