Does Darzins really have to be signed? He was drafted out of Latvia, not out of the WHL. It was only over a year after he was drafted by the Preds that he come overseas and played with Kelowna. Stehlik, I can understand. He was drafted out of the Q. But Darzins just doesn't make sense.

True enough. It did say they were expected to sign him though. (Darzins was actually drafted out of Finland, not Latvia).

Eaves, Kaigorodov, Lyamin for Sens. Muckler is VERY quiet.
They don't have to be signed. They might, but they don't have to.

I'm a little confussed, is it just the 2003 Draft Picks from North America?
Or just from the CHL?

Or everyone?

Don't players from overseas have different guidelines for being signed (I'm pretty sure they DID, but has that since changed?)

Does Patrick Eaves have to be signed? He is in college and I'm not sure if that rule still applies...

No, he doesn't. It wouldn't shock me if he does.

Star Tribune

Looks like Patrick O'Sullivan is a done deal. :yo:

(need to register for the article)

Mark Guy, one of the agents representing O'Sullivan, said Wednesday night that the two sides were "pretty much done" with a three-year deal for O'Sullivan, the Wild's second-round draft choice in 2003.

Yep, I'm still waiting for the Oilers to ink Pouliot and Jacques and of less importance, but importance none the less Troy Bodie.

They'll get done. There doesn't seem to be any real reason that these guys won't be inked by there respective clubs. Maybe the late rounders but not the early guys.

Ty Morris was released by the Canucks last year. He is already a free agent.
I thought I remembered that last year, but all I actually heard were rumours. But he's not on the Canucks' site, so I'll turf him.

Florida has Meyer, Roussin, Tuma, Lojek and a couple other decent guys. Any chance Roussin would reenter and see if Pittsburgh would try and get him since they have Crosby? I really hope he signs with FLA though because Meyer and Roussin are the two negotiating with Keenan specifically.

You can take Colliton off now. He's been signed. :)

I think Steve Bernier is an extremely signicant player to be signed, and I have no doubts that he will be. Bernier gets a lot of flak on HF because 75% of people have not seen him play ever and most still have the belief that nothing has changed from 2003 when he was slow, fat, and lazy. They see his stats and believe this is a declining player and that is absolutely, unequivocably, untrue.

Bernier is a prospect who has improved fairly dramatically every year in his all around game, and this steady advancement is a great sign for the Sharks.
