2001 draftees turning out as expected....

    Surprising how close most of the first round draftees have conformed to expectation so far. Perhaps no one expected such a gap between Kovalchuk and Spezza, but Jason seems to be closing it somewhat. Breaking it down by NHL games played.

    200 + Kovalchuk

    100 - 150 Spezza, Svitov, Weiss, Chistov, Hemsky

    50 - 100 Komisarek, Ruutu, Hamhuis, Kobasew, Blackburn.

    Those guys are all in the top 15, along with Sjostrom who is close to 50 games. Morrisonn has played about 50 games as well, the rest of the bottom 15 first rounders are in single digits or less.

    Oops....the scource I used had one of his seasons listed twice. :innocent:
