One more random thought: Skinner did a pretty solid job forechecking on Dwyer's goal. He even took the body a little on Franson to create the turnover.

I'd really like to see him learn from that kind of success, and take seriously the idea of getting to the boards and putting even some light body contact on the opposing defense. He could really make a lot out of quick turnover opportunities.

I would love it so much if the Raptors made the playoffs and went on a bit of a run. Upsetting the Knicks or Pacers then taking the Heat 7. Combine that with a sure fire Blue Jays WS...

...Wonder what that'd do to the Leafs?

A couple of random kudos...

1) The first PPG doesn't happen if Semin and Tlusty don't work the boards and prevent a clear. I'm starting to think Tlusty is the unheralded hero among our forward group, and Semin just looks like a different animal than I remember him before. It's nice to have bona fide support players who are actually good at what they do.

2) Faulk's hands on his goal... for a two-way defenseman that's pretty good scoring finish. He was involved in two goals tonight, which is just flat-out scary when you consider how the other aspects of his game are developing. This kid really has blossomed in the past 12 months.
His board play and defensive play are extremely underrated. He was one of the top defensive forwards on Washington last year.

I think I can understand the point of a Pre-Game Talk thread (not to get too many posts about food/video games/musical instruments/etc before game day), but can someone explain the point of a Post-Game Talk thread? Seems to me it just makes it that much tougher to find the comment you're looking for when you go back and look for it a month later...especially when the GDT is still open.

During the game last night, heard mention of one of the Stalls "allegedly" tampering when it came to Marc joining the Hurricanes.

Is there anything to this? was this just nonsense? I honestly can't remember who said it. just stuck with me all night.

Sorta. There was a bit of miscommunication that came out of that story...what was said was that there was some alleged "pampering", and it was misconstrued as "tampering".

Kind of been wondering this myself. Unless someone can come up with a good defense for it we might just keep everything contained in the GDT going forward.

I think we got used to three threads lol as a habit..

Anyway, The "I don't want Dwyer on second line" is funny when we don't have alot of other options. They're not going to play Juice there since they like him at Center....so you got nobody else that you would trust long term.,..Meaning you ride the hot player/the one that earns it.

That's Dwyer.

I would keep the Pre Game Talk when the game itself is more than a day away (like the game on Thurs.).

I kind of like having separate Pre-Game, Post-Game and Game Day Threads, especially when the game day thread reaches twenty pages or so. It's an uplifting reminder that we're not in that 3-5 page GDT only state that exists when the team is completely ****.
