My thoughts:
BEAUTIFUL to see LaRose with 11 minutes TOI. Exactly where he needs to be, if not less.

Wallace looked good.

And why did we waive Boychuk?? To call up Nodl and scratch him???

Tonight's a good night to leave the Leafs fans alone. They're a little touchy.

Poor things. We should lift their spirits by reminding them the Leafs won a cup in 1967.

Good hard earned win for the boys tonight. They all hustled and Cam was awesome after the first goal.

That is exquisite. And no, I think you're probably fine in this thread. ;)

I was only breezing through and couldn't resist throwing an LOL at a Leafs fan who was upset at "smug" Staal after his goal and got tossed from the thread like immediately.

I'm don't troll, particularly other fans after they've lost to us but that one was worth it.

Nice to see this. Can someone give me a brief summary of how the team looked. I've already heard about the Skinner call, no goal kick, etc. Just want to know how the team as a whole looked. Thanks.

Started the game as usual getting absolutely dominated for 10 minutes straight, second half of the first period wasn't as bad but wasn't good. Second and third were great.

Westgarth fought :box:, then took a bad penalty on his next shift out of the box in the offensive zone. :shakehead

After the first, we played great, bounces went our way, and so did that no goal call. That could have easily changed the momentum of the game, after scoring on the powerplay after that was the dagger. Third period the Leafs put a tonne of shots on Ward, he came up big. Pat Dwyer ices it by scoring on the first shot after a lot of pressure from the Leafs, really killed momentum.

Cam looked great :vhappy:

Haven't watched the game since I'm having trouble with my DVR, but sounds like it was a good one.

I'm not holding my breath on Dwyer though. He's fast enough to not look totally out of place next to JStaal, but like Larose, I don't want him in the top six long term.

Good enough game to beat the leafs. But I wouldn't want to give up some of those chances against real goalscorers. Sangs and McBain seem to give away so many chances.

I don't advocate trolling, but tonight is probably the most appropriate night this season to break out this bad boy:

Canes and especially Ward trolled the Leafs hard tonight.

Wallace looked good out there, real good. I don't expect production from him, I expect him to hit every ****ing thing that moves. That he did.

I don't want to see too much support of Larose by any other name in Patrick Dwyer. He of 24 goals in 232 games. Give him the credit he deserves for sure, but we shouldn't try to use him there full time.

Anybody know when an optimistic return schedule for Ruutu would be?

When the news first came out, I'm pretty sure they said early May. Then, another article in the paper said early April. Haven't heard anything since then though.

Here's some credit: With Dwyer there the 2nd line suddenly showed up for the season, scoring the Canes' only 2 even strength goals and the 3 of them combining for 6 points. If chemistry/combination is working, who cares what his name is ffs.

A couple of random kudos...

1) The first PPG doesn't happen if Semin and Tlusty don't work the boards and prevent a clear. I'm starting to think Tlusty is the unheralded hero among our forward group, and Semin just looks like a different animal than I remember him before. It's nice to have bona fide support players who are actually good at what they do.

2) Faulk's hands on his goal... for a two-way defenseman that's pretty good scoring finish. He was involved in two goals tonight, which is just flat-out scary when you consider how the other aspects of his game are developing. This kid really has blossomed in the past 12 months.
