I’d literally forgotten he was in the pipeline.
First rounders get all the press I suppose. Hell, I haven’t heard anything about Hague lately at all, and he was studdish at rookie camp.
It seems to me that I am The Hague hype man haha. If he stays healthy, I think he is going to turn into what Jaren Cowen was supposed to be.
With Hague, the only worry I have is that his size and strength combo are making him seem better than he is against the young'ins.
Ben Jones is easy to forget about. Literally couldn’t come up with a more generic name if I tried.
As was mentioned, leading the team in scoring, and Niagara is a good team too. Looking at their ages, they are extremely young. Only one twenty year old, and he’s halfway down the list in scoring. Not very many 19 year olds either. The bulk of the team are 18 and under.
Play style wise, he seems like a Curtis Lazar type in the future. Even if he’s a future 4th liner, that’s impressive for a 7th rounder. One thing you can’t ever doubt McPhee for, and the scouting groups he assembles is their scouting ability.
Interesting factoid I just read: Jones was a defenseman most of his life. That probably explains his two way game, but could also mean there is still a ton of room to grow in the offensive end of the ice.
