He used to say stuff that nobody has the balls to say anymore.

If someone from today's game said the things that he used to say in the locker room after a poor performance, people would be like ''WHAT did he just SAY?'' or even accuse him of being a locker room cancer.

He would point blank say things like the team was terrible that night or just be really blunt about it.

Not many straight shooters left.

You think he would've told Keith that he "needs to play better"? :sarcasm:

You just HAVE to be "that guy", don't you?:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

And comparing Bratt to Tedenby? GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE WITH THAT GARBAGE!!

Bratt has more talent in his pinky than Tedenby has in his entire body.

And who is Linus Omark and why should I give a damn?

bratt has reminded me of paul kariya at times. they are the same height, shoot about the same and will be around the same weight. 5'10" 175-185 LH shot. if he turns out to be half the player kariya was the devils will have struck gold.

Did somebody hack(or is it haak?) your account?

You're not the same person who compared Jesper to friggin' Tedenby.

Should we start a Gofundme for Bratt to see his confidence coach again?

Yeah. He's been struggling.

He seems to always be in the Defensive Zone.

But I think it has more to do with his linemates Noesen and Coleman than himself.

If he was on a line with either Nico or Hall, he'd spend a bit more time in the O-zone.

One thing I've realized(and many others have, I think) is that Bratt isn't one who "drives the play", so to speak.

I think Bratt needs a little better top end speed to really be a dangerous top 6 winger. He is very quick, deceptive and has a good enough shot, he just lacks that extra gear.

That goal was as kariya-esque as it gets.

I've been hard on Bratt over the past couple months because he was playing miserably as a first line winger. I don't think he's a top 6 winger right now he does want to be effective he needs to be a specialist plus the matchup must be right. He is a high skill open ice player and is largely ineffective outside of that.

Having said that, he is only 19 and has so much potential. If he adds 5-10 pounds of muscle over the offseason he will be much more effective. Bratt needs his linemates to plug away and provide him with the ability to create or finish. I agree with others saying that he does not drive play but he certainly can add the finishing touches.

True but this is the Jesper Bratt thread so I want to post my grumblings here, regardless.

I'm sure he'll be in the next game.

Fair enough. We all want Brattman to be Brattman again. I think we just need to keep in mind that he's a 19 year old and he might need games off now and then. Remember when this board was losing their shit over Zacha being scratched or playing limited minutes? Or Severson getting healthy scratched at times? Not everybody can be like Nico and play every game as a rookie.

Jesper Bratt is 5 years younger than Omark was when he broke into the league, and has already scored more points than Omark got in his entire NHL career. Great comparison.
wasn't really a comparison in that sense - I loved Omarks puck skills and followed him closely coming up - bratt has all those pucks skills and more in my opinion and a better hockey IQ to top it off. sky is the limit and i just see a few similar traits

Well......October Bratt made an appearance tonight. Let's hope Bratt is almost recovered from hitting that Rookie Wall now....

Yup, this was the Bratt of old. He's kind of a funny fit on that line, Hischier and Hall are always on the same page, Bratt, not so much. He makes some strange plays, but he'll fish the puck out of someone skates in the neutral zone, skate it through traffic, and the put it on someone's stick for a shot.

Bratt's like a soloist, but instead of creating shots for himself, he's trying to create them for other players.
