That's great to see but one of these days this may cost him a broken bone or concussion. What if he actually scrapped with MacDermid? I don't like the outcome for Hischier.

Then the next time we played the Kings Prout would be in the lineup, Wood would be playing even more reckless, and who knows maybe an AHL call up of a guy like Thompson. Have fun dealing with those three using their size and playing pissed off.

Can't wait to see this kid live and I have prime seats to boot... right at glass level at the right of Schneider.

Ouch. I saw Hall's knee on knee, but I thought he was OK after that? Is it projected to be a long term situation? I sure hope not.

Just a thigh contusion(or was it a knee contusion) and he's day to day. He didn't travel with the team to Montreal and more than likely won't play today against Dallas but I think he might be back for the next game afterward.

Thanks! Very good news then, nothing major.

When should we get frustrated by Nico's lack of finish.

Dimitri Filipovic wrote about Nico and he addressed this.
A look at Erik Karlsson's play amidst the Senators' struggles, plus two other trends - Sportsnet.ca

The whole article is worth reading but this quote addresses his finishing ability:
"The other thing worth considering is how he’s been accruing his points thus far. Context is important here, because the reason his overall totals haven’t ballooned are (in no particular order):
1. He’s converting on just 7.8 per cent of his shots, with the league average for forwards hovering around 11.2 per cent this season. Based on his profile, there’s no real reason to believe Hischier is that inefficient as a shooter, which suggests he’s due for an uptick at some point.
2. Not only have 15 of his 20 points come at five-on-five, but only two of them have been secondary assists. If you account for that, all of a sudden his production looks far more comparable to his peers...
If you pro-rate those numbers for the amount of minutes he’s been getting, Hischier jumps up to 35th in the league in points per hour (sandwiched between Johnny Gaudreau and David Pastrnak) and 24th in primary points per hour (between Jack Eichel and Vladimir Tarasenko)."

He is a future Selke finalist. Makes 3-4 amazing defensive plays a game while being defensively sound already. Being a Selke finalist on a line with Hall would make them one of the most dangerous in the league. Couldn’t be happier with the pick.

And the kid is stealing pucks from big name, established stars. It isn't like he is just picking on the weaker players. He is fleecing guys in the neutral zone that don't get fleeced and he is making it look easy.

He may never have the sniping game that the elite guys have but I still think he will be a goal scorer that gets tons of assists and is money in all other parts of the game. His leadership also looks like it's gonna be fantastic.

I actually think his shot is incredibly accurate and sneaky, i think he has trouble getting it off at times and finishing around the net

I can't wait to see him in a year or two at 195-205lbs, especially next year when he'll have a whole offseason to work on his strength and conditioning.
Strength and conditioning combined with a year of experience also. When he starts to slow the game down and have more patience around the net he's going to start scoring.

Is it me or does Nico looked like his skating has slowed down of late?

Tired legs that rookies get right about now?

You don't need an elite shot to be an elite player. Hall is the perfect example.

Also he already slows down the game. You can see it with the passes he makes.

He is just unlucky right now and is forcing it a bit as a result.

But Hall's lack of an elite shot is why he has never cracked 30 goals despite generating a ton of shots.
