Ratings look great for 1290 but I suspect our playoff run helped a lot. If we don't make playoffs next year they won't have the same ratings

I gave Kevin O months and months to win me over, tried to get over his "know-it-allness", laughing at his own jokes, and just listened cuz I love listening to Jets talk no matter what. I finally gave up, but not because of things I just mentioned. Most everyone in the industry says their share of uhhs and ahhs, but Kevin O is WAY worse than even Lawless was. Seriously, unless he's reading his pre-prepared storytime 15 minute filler at the start of his show, he struggles to utter a single sentence or ask a single question without uhhhh-ing. At least when Hustler or Gary or Westwood do it, it's mostly because they're thinking of the next thing to say and kinda stalling, but with Kevin O it's a part of his delivery. First question of an interview and it's not even a difficult question, and it's every second word sometimes to the point it became unbearable. Please tell me I'm not the only one who notices. Does anyone at 1290 listen to his delivery? Does he even realize that he's doing it? Please someone have a talk with him because I went from being the dial always on 1290 guy to always on 1290 except from 11:00-2:00 daily.

Toth gets a lot of hate here, yes he has ridiculous takes and his sports knowledge is at best on par with most listeners, but at least he's pretty professional in his delivery. RR is polished and the best on 1290 for delivery, Hustler is unpolished but entertaining Westwood plays his role. Kevin O has a good radio voice but he's just a void in the middle of the day that doesn't bring much to the table and that gets more than offset by being annoying to listen to. Please get RR back in his old time slot, he's being wasted paired with Hustler. I'll settle for KO being slot in beside Hustler and having a minor presence on the show if it means I can get back to listening for 2 more hours a day (sorry, won't listen to a replay even with RR at the helm).

When JT was away earlier this week and Westwood was hosting it was awkward as hell. Toth keeps the conversations going and has a strong delivery and tone that keep listeners interested imo, I think he is strong as an anchor/moderator. His knowledge and some of his takes might be a bit ridiculous, as well as some mispronouncing of names, but when he is not missing from the show it is noticeable

Oh man... it was awful.... I couldn't believe how bad it was. Feel sorry for Brandon, because he is the best of the three and actually does a great job.

Yeah I've made that point many times before. Even made the "darned good buddy" comment a few times. :D Westwood is fine in the secondary/tertiary role but not the lead voice role. I just wish they had somebody better than Toth for that role because while he's better in a technical/delivery sense, he's terrible in a content sense. He says dumb shit way too often.

I picked up a new vehicle a while back so now I am on Podcasts only and I have to say I am really enjoying the break from 1290. I think it’s been two weeks since I have listened and it’s nice to avoid the frustration......it’s allot easier to avoid now that Jets season is over.

I’m with you on KO. Kevin O’s heavy breathing into the mic after he says something he thinks is clever makes me want to take a shower.

I might complain about some dumb comments by other on air personalities but I’ll still listen. Not Kevin O, I don’t like his personality or hot takes.

They just had a discussion about the Vezina award and Toth gave a masterclass in “Debating The Toth Way”. A long discussion in which his position is basically rendered dumb by logic and reason that ends with him essentially saying “you can disagree all you want and I get that but I just think that’s how NHL GMs think and how they assess things.” Yeah Jim...you know how GMs really think.

It's funny whenever he does that because it's so dumb and adds nothing to the conversation.

Lol, love when Toth frames a question so that his argument can’t be disputed.

“Ok so if you want the 10th overall pick, what are you going to give up along with Myers to get it? And it can’t be Dano, and it can’t be Petan and it has to include our 2nd round pick...”

Was listening to this exchange on the way to work, painful to listen to.

Especially how he couldn't grasp how trading Myers for a 1st, especially 10th, is great value vs what he brings to the Jets as a third pairing/PP specialist, as opposed to keeping him and he walks for nothing in a year and we have no longterm asset to show for it.
