This. Yzerman is probably banking on some team getting desperate for D, sort of like the time we traded Brewer to these very Ducks. We got way more than Brewer's on-ice value in that deal.

I don't think he's gotten worse. I think word is just out that he's a 6'8 kitten, whereas at the beginning of his career, players weren't so quick to try to burn him.
