I doubt Brown plays 2nd line. If we can keep getting this great play from Point and Palat then we're gonna have a great chance of winning this one

The Tampa killer, Malkin....

Malkin is definitely a beast. Hedman once said in an interview that he was the toughest player to go up against in the league.

However, strangely enough we have a player who has scored against them pretty consistently the last few regular seasons including his first 2 goal game since his rookie year. lol I don't want to jinx him so I won't name names but.... isn't that a lovely spin-o-rama goal at the beginning of this excellent GDT?? :D

Off to the game!!

Let's go :bolts!

I don't think Hedman particularly struggles against Malkin, the rest of the defense does. Hedman usually does well against skilled players, it's the speedsters that burn him, Kessel is one guy whos walked Hedman multiple times - maybe he just looks at him and forgets how fast he actually is.

Agreed. Heddy said that malkin not only had skill but that if he gets ticked off Malkin turns into a monster. :D

I know he sometimes gets burned but I am still always amazed at how fast Hedman can skate considering his size.

So Heddy against Malkin/Kessel

Gotta assume we get Coburn/Girardi against Crosby, I don't want Serg anywhere near Crosby, he'll get lit up.

Doubt Brown is on the 2nd line. Coop likely going with 11 F/ 7D with Dumont replacing the injured Paquette.

I hope that's the case since having an extra 'd' against teams like the Pens doesn't hurt, especially since it looked good last game.

Yeah, you don't want Serg's nonchalant type of play near Crosby.

It would be nice to follow up our win vs Washington with another 2pts against Pittsburgh. Make a statement.

I am relieved Brown is NOT on the second line. That would be a major burden on his linemates as he is much better suited on the fourth line or where he is tonight.

This will be a tough game for sure but beating the defending champs in Pittsburgh would mean a lot. I could say something about Niemi but I don't want to jinx it

This should be a good test for our team. They are coming of a b2b but shouldn't be underestimated but I don't think our team will do that.
